wonderful Bishnupriya Manipuri Dance performer. She is a National Award Winner in Manipuri Dance who was honoured by the President of India.
She is the grand daughter-in-law of renowned director, choreographer and teacher of Manipuri Dance, Lt. Guru Bipin Singh. She is a disciple of Guru Kalavati Devi who is the Head of the Manipuri Dance Deptt. at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata who is a recipient of the prestigious Manipur State Kala Akademi Award (2002) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2003). She is also trained under Darshana Jhaveri who was honored with the Padma Shri in (2002) and is one of the founding member of "Manipuri Nartanalaya" which popularised Manipuri Dance in India with centers in Mumbai, Kolkata and Imphal. She is also a disciple of Shri Sanjib Bhattacharya who is a recipient of President’s Awards from Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in (2006) and Smt. Pratibha Patil in (2011) and is an accomplished Manipuri Dance Exponent, Guru and well-known Contemporary Dancer and Choreographer of India and abroad. Vinita Singha was mentored and guided by him throughout her career in Delhi when she moved from Kolkata. She also got the opportunity to perform with him in many National Level Dance Concerts and Events. It was he who taught her the essence of light, costume, style and many more. She also learnt "Mridanga Vadan" from Shri. Sanjib Bhattacharya.
