It is an integral part of the traditional rituals of the community

It is also a social practice where families weave and send it to their near and dear ones to use it on the occasion of "Hari Utthan"

It is observed during the month of October

The Weaving of Firaal is also considered a traditional art for the women folks of the Bishnupriya Manipuri Community

It is known that in the year 1985, the then Deputy Commissioner of Karimganj, Mr. D.N Bhattacharjee IAS alloted about six kathas of land for the Bishnupriya Manipuri community at Sibbari Road which is extented upto Karimganj College campus in the south. LEADING MEN : The leading men towards owning the property were Gopendra Kumar Sinha ACS, the then settlement officer, Karimganj and Rajendra Kumar Sinha, the then Kanungo (Land record holder). Bimalendu Sinha - The ‘Creator’ By Bindita Sinha Alpana in Ramakrishna Mission, Arunachal Pradesh  Bimalendu Sinha. Probably ‘Creator’ is the best suitable title for him. He is a fine arts teacher at Ramakrishna Mission School, Deomali. He was the part of the first batch of students trained by Dr. Mukunda Debnath, a well-known artist of the undivided Cachar District. He received awards in the under-20 age group category in the ‘Nikhil Banga Sahitya Sammelan’ in 1973, and got confidence and started to exercise his own style. In 1979, he took admission in Shantiniketan. Nature is the main theme and subject in his creations. Sometimes, it is realistic, sometimes abstract.
