Who would dare to think of performing in Madison Square Garden which is widely recognized as the world's most famous arena located in Manhattan, USA? It is considered “The World's Most Famous Arena” because of its rich history of events. It is a dream for any artist to perform on the most prestigious platform in the world once in a lifetime.
Lt. Ms. Joonaki Sinha dared to dream this impossible dream and did it magnificently in the Madison Square Garden as the lead vocalist of Guwahati based rock band named Rx. She along with her rock band performed it in 2003. She was born in Tripura on 3rd Dec 1983 and grew up in Assam. She started singing at the tender age of 5 and was doing stage performances and TV and Radio appearances by the time she was 15. She was a brilliant student too with distinction in Science. Her musical career was her life and at the age of 17 years, she started to travel to different parts of the world like Chicago, New York City to build her musical career. Staying away from her family in an unknown foreign land is tough. It requires guts and determination. She had her fair amount of struggle to cope up with that but she never gave up on her dreams and continued to live up to them. And finally, she made it possible by performing in Madison Square Garden along with some prestigious musical festivals. She also grabbed the attention of the world-famous rapper 50 cents during that time.
Her family and friends want to remember her as the undying soul who sacrificed her life in the pledge of holding on to her vision of making it big. Let’s remember her as a strong woman and a great musician despite a tragic death at such an early age.

Bimalendu Sinha - The ‘Creator’ By Bindita Sinha Alpana in Ramakrishna Mission, Arunachal Pradesh  Bimalendu Sinha. Probably ‘Creator’ is the best suitable title for him. He is a fine arts teacher at Ramakrishna Mission School, Deomali. He was the part of the first batch of students trained by Dr. Mukunda Debnath, a well-known artist of the undivided Cachar District. He received awards in the under-20 age group category in the ‘Nikhil Banga Sahitya Sammelan’ in 1973, and got confidence and started to exercise his own style. In 1979, he took admission in Shantiniketan. Nature is the main theme and subject in his creations. Sometimes, it is realistic, sometimes abstract.
